Middlesex County Inmate Search
Residents of New Jersey who wish to locate inmates held in correctional facilities within Middlesex County can do so using an inmate search. Inmate searches are legal since inmate information is considered a component of Middlesex County Public Records. However, most searches typically require that inquirers provide the inmate's name or any other identifying detail. Depending on the custodial facility, records may be accessed from a database maintained by the Middlesex County Department of Corrections (MCDOC) or the city police. Inmate searches are necessary for making informed decisions about safety or locating friends or family members incarcerated within the county.

Where to Find a Middlesex County Inmate Locator
To assist with searches for offenders held in country-run facilities, the Middlesex County Office of Adult Correction and Youth Services provides an online inmate lookup tool. Users will need to provide enough information to search, such as the first and last name of the offender or a booking number if known.
Records of Middlesex County residents housed in correctional facilities managed by the New Jersey Department of Correction (DOC) can be found using the department's online offender search engine. Accessible by almost anyone, the online inmate finder provides access to the record of all offenders under the custody of state-run correctional facilities. However, the details of released offenders are removed 12 months after their maximum sentence date expires. Searches can be done using either a known SBI number or the offender's name (first and last). Users can also filter results using physical descriptors or by specifying a facility.
Access to Middlesex County inmate records can also be obtained using third-party inmate locators. These tools require that inquirers provide a valid name (first and last) and a location as well as pay a fee. Unlike county and state inmate locators, third-party inmate locators may provide access to a wide database, as these locators provide access to public records compiled from multiple jurisdictions outside New Jersey.
